The Chamber wants to wish Sue Wirta best wishes as she retires after a remarkable 33-year career at Smith Furniture. Her dedication and expertise have undoubtedly left a lasting impact.
Sue Wirta and her husband Dick purchased Smith Furniture in 1991 in downtown Wadena. In January 2020, longtime employee Christina Frost bought the business and Wirta has remained on staff.
When Wirta's kids asked her what she's going to do when she retires, Sue joked, "Hang out at Smith Furniture!"
She added, "I'm not one to sleep in. I'm a morning person who likes to get up and do things." Wirta said she will no doubt miss the customers and her co-workers.
